CLYDE LYNDS uses fiber optics to induce flickering lights across the concrete surfaces of his sculptures. The works change as the programmed fiber elements shift from one color to the next causing the appearance of sequential light movements. Mr. Lynds has won a number of awards, including a Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts in 1983. His work is in numerous public and private collections, including the National Gallery of American Art, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut.
