FRANCOIS & BERNARD BASCHET
For over fifty years, the French-born Baschet brothers, Francois and Bernard, a sculptor and an engineer, created amazing and eccentric acoustic musical sculptures using industrial materials such as sheet metal, glass rods, and water. Welcoming these sculptors, and their bizarre instruments, into the realm of fine art, the Baschet brothers had their first major exhibit at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 1960.
